19th November 2007 ALL BLACK TURNS BLUE View slideshow of the evening>> Cheshire property development and investment company, Bluemantle hosted a private audience with Sale Sharks’ latest recruit, Luke McAlister at the Bubble Room in Alderley Edge this evening (Monday 19th November). This exclusive event provided invited guests the opportunity to meet the former All Black star, who has agreed a two year contract with the Sharks. Luke’s move to Premiership side Sale Sharks was facilitated by Bluemantle’s sponsorship. Jim Caldwell, Chairman of Bluemantle and long term Sale Sharks supporter, approached the Club earlier this year expressing his concerns about cover at fly-half and centre for next season. Following a meeting with Philippe Saint-Andre, Sharks’ director of rugby, Mr Caldwell agreed that his company would support the club in its efforts to attract a new high profile player. Jim Caldwell comments: “Over the years, we had built a strong relationship with Sharks and are delighted to be able to play our part in ensuring the team’s success. Luke McAlister is a real coup for Sale Sharks and to have a player of his calibre will not only increase the performance of the team but also support at the club.” Caldwell continues: “This is another milestone in Sale Sharks’ history and will help the club to realise its ambitious plans to build on the firm base already created by Brian Kennedy, Philippe Saint-Andre and Head Coach, Kingsley Jones. We wish Luke and the rest of the Sharks team every success in the coming season.” Established more than 20 years ago and based in Alderley Edge, Bluemantle has evolved from a family run business and is now active in all areas of property development and investment throughout the North West. Bluemantle currently has almost £500 million worth of new development in the pipeline which is due to be completed within the next five years.
