BLUEMANTLE / KILMARTIN SUBMIT PLANS FOR MILLER ARCADE

Bluemantle / Kilmartin have submitted a planning application to refurbish the upper floors of the Miller Arcade as high-quality offices and enhance the existing restaurant / leisure uses on the ground floor facing the Town Hall square.

The offices will offer modern, flexible and contemporary space targeted at professional occupiers in Preston city centre wanting a location adjacent to the main shopping amenities and transport interchanges as well as the Courts, Winckley Square and key public sector buildings.

Bluemantle / Kilmartin anticipate that people moving back into the upper floors of the building and their plans to improve the management of the public space on the ground floor will bring life back into the Arcade itself which will help maintain and support the existing retail and leisure businesses that operate from it.

The planning application is due for determination in August with work planned to start in November and the first offices becoming available in the second quarter of next year.

Mark Ridehalgh of Kilmartin said “We are pleased that the plans for the Arcade are now coming together and I look forward to work starting later on this year which will send a powerful message that Preston is still very much open for business by bringing such a unique and iconic building back into full use.”
